THE MISSION
INTIMATE
emerged as an Institute with the mission "to harness and develop
human capacities to capital" in the backdrop of Bangladesh's stride
to help improve the lot of over 140 million people living within her
geographical territory comprising hardly 147,570 square kilometers.
Owing to disproportionately density of population, known as highest in the world, quite
often Bangladesh is rightly said to be grossly over populated.

M H Rahman, CEO of INTIMATE and Chairman of ARENCO Group speaking at the Launching Ceremony
An
insight into her socio-economic development trend will, however, reveal
it is not the over population which most superfluous studies tend to project
as her number one problem. It is the absence of appropriate planning to
develop her human population which is actually impeding her economic prosperity.
In
spite of frequent natural calamities, absence of enabling environment
and inadequacy of infrastructural facilities Bangladesh has achieved
the GDP growth rate close to 7% in the recent years. This can be largely
attributed to commendable role of the private sector.
The
enterprising private sector needs and rightly deserves to be supported
in its consistent capacity-building endeavors so that it can contribute
more constructively and effectively towards Bangladesh's transition from a least developed to a
developing country by the year 2020.
